To Myself

I did a post dedicated to my boyfriend and all the things I love about him and encouraged anyone reading to do the same to their partner or the someone special in their life. But since not everyone is in a relationship and even if you are, loving yourself is important too. It is also, in my opinion, the hardest. I think a lot of people have trouble taking compliments from other people and its even harder telling them to yourself. So in this post I am going to list some of the things that I love about myself. This post is difficult for me to write because to be honest, I don’t believe it about myself sometimes. I have days where I break down crying because I don’t feel like I’m good enough for anyone or anything, I don’t feel pretty enough, I don’t feel smart enough, funny enough, any type of enough and wonder why my friends still like me or why my boyfriend could still want to be with me when there are so many better people. However, it is especially in those moments that you need to remind yourself, you are worth it. It is hard and most people’s most difficult relationship is the one with themselves. That is precisely the reason for this post, to remind myself that I am enough and all the wonderful things about me. It is also to challenge all of you to tell yourself or write them down or however you want to do it, but list all of the things you love about yourself.

Here we go.

I am smart. I went to a pretty small school, but I graduated near the top of my class and I think that is something to be proud of. I am not and was not a very outgoing person so I stayed in and studied and did my homework and it paid off. I got good grades and graduated very near the top.

I am funny and have a good sense of humor. I love laughing and smiling and often find my cheeks hurting because I do so much of it, but if that’s my only problem, I’ll take it. I know that not everyone finds me funny, but I don’t care, because I do. I crack myself up and since I like laughing I like that I can do that for myself.

I am easily excitable. I find joy in the small things and get really excited about little things sometimes. Of course I like big gestures and big exciting things but I also love the little things too, I get excited when a new song comes on the radio that I really like, I like when it starts to snow especially since it rarely happens here and I never expect it. One time my boyfriend got me a little sparkly id holder thing and I got so excited because he got it for me just because he knows I like sparkly things. I like the little things and the big things and I like that I am excitable. To me it makes life more enjoyable.

I have a nice nose. I have been told that by quite a few people but I think so too. I also like my wrists, my feet and my eyes.

I am weird. I mean that in the best way. I think differently and see things differently and am really random and I love that about myself.

I hope that this post inspires you to list all the things you love about yourself. Valentine’s Day is about love and while it is targeted at couples, there’s nothing wrong with being single and loving yourself.

I copied this area; “I break down crying because I don’t feel like I’m good enough for anyone or anything, I don’t feel pretty enough, I don’t feel smart enough, funny enough, any type of enough and wonder why my husband loves me’. I have these feelings too! I am glad to get to know you a little better. You are beautiful and a great writer! Thanks for sharing your innermost thoughts!

I do get the feeling that I am not good enough for myself or to anyone else. There are so many times I’d cry in the bathroom before taking a bathe. I love your post, and you have inspired me to write same too.
Cheers to loving ourselves more henceforth and accepting that we are more than enough
